Ken Nguyen
“Nana korobi, ya oki” – a Japanese proverb that means “Fall down 7 times, stand up 8.”
He might be small, but Ken’s powerful. If you’re looking for a strength and power coach, this Olympic Weightlifting specialist is for you.
About Ken
Ken Nguyen, aka Kenny Power, is the Power Coach of Fitness Playground. If you’re looking for a Personal Trainer with a strength and power training background, you can stop looking, he reckons 😉
As an Australian Weightlifting Federation Level 1 Sports Power Coach (soon to be Level 2), Ken’s biggest passion is understanding Olympic Weightlifting. Despite the technicality of these sports, Ken is able to make your training fun and enjoyable for his clients.
In his own words: “I used to hate myself for not being talented enough to play a musical instrument. But I found my instrument… It’s long, round and heavy. Oh, it also weighs 20KG. Can you guess what it is?”
Ken says he’s aware his body comes in a “fun” size but he sure knows how to pack a punch! He is always up for any challenge. Anytime, anywhere, anything.

Training Philosophy
If you take away the superficial component of exercise, you are left with training for life. It’s a lifestyle. Training for life means that you are OK with being uncomfortable with the weights on your shoulder; it means that you are going to get up every time life pushes you down; it means that you are going to be resilient for those obstacles in life. Training for life is more than just weight loss and fad diets. I’d hate for you to go through life without truly understanding what it feels like to be strong.
